The weight of the water compresses your body, helping reduce inflammation in all your joints. Exercising in water lowers the heart rate so you can work even harder and burn more calories than a land-based class. It is non-weight bearing if you head to the deep end, taking pressure off your back, hips, knees, and feet, and it puts less weight on your joints if you decide to move in the shallow end.
