I’ve enjoyed watching everyone get creative during this crazy time with crafts, painting, gardening, baking and working out. It’s wonderful to see so many of you finding ways to stay busy during this crisis, but I think it’s important that we talk about your nutrition.
With all the fancy baking, we tend to eat too many items that really don’t belong in our daily menu. Many of you are diabetic, so all the cookies and bread are going to send your blood sugars off the chart. We need to continue being creative, but with items you can actually enjoy guilt free.
As most of you are online wiz kids, here’s your chance to do some research and find items that are yummy, healthy and within your dietary guidelines. At our latest support group meeting, someone mentioned that Walmart has a great pick up service. You order online, select a pick up time, you drive by and they put it in your trunk for you. Instacart offers similar services so there is no real excuse for not having healthy items in your cupboards.
What I don’t want to see, is you using this pandemic as an excuse to go off your path. Most of you started this year with fantastic, achievable goals and I want to see you reach your goal. It will take planning ahead, experimenting with whatever you have in your pantry and continuing to track your progress. I have faith in you and I know you have plenty of time to plan these days.
If you need help, I’m here for you. Just message me or give me a jingle and lets talk about the best ways for you to stay healthy.
